How to save in the Touhou Project games?

I was wondering how to save in the Touhou Project games. I have Scarlet Weather Rhapsody and The Embodiment of Scarlet Devil, and when I play Embodiment of Scarlet Devil, it never saves. So I was wondering if there was a special button you need to press to save. Help please?!
